The collection consists of 26 reels of microfilm selected from two series (M619 and M666) of files of letters received by the U.S. Adjutant General's Office from military personnel, government officials, congressmen, goveronors, private citizens, and others. These particular selected letters concern appointments, recruitment, pay, transfers, supply, promotions, leaves, orders, military expeditions and installations, Indian affairs, and other matters in the Pacific Northwest and in the Territory of Alaska.
